Important Information (Transponders)

21st April 2016

As a club we have always provided hand out transponders but unfortunately these are know longer available to buy.

For the past few years we have had up to 9 that we use to loan out but due to failures we are down to our last 5 and can not say how long they will last.

Like most clubs, drivers need to make sure they have their own personal transponder because we can know longer guarantee having loan outs.

Christmas Team Event 16/12/14

10th December 2014

Racing on this night will be different.

Where possible each team will be made up of 4 drivers (Teams of 2/3 may be used to balance numbers), these will be of varying skill to give all teams a chance of winning. Teams of 4 will be made up of Drivers from A, B, C & D Groups where Teams of 2/3 will be made up of B & Cs or Bs.

All drivers will use their own cars but will have to use a club transponder (hole may need adding to your shell).

Each driver will race 5 minutes approximately at a time. Drivers in a Team of 3 will do a total of 4 sessions and drivers in Team of 2 will need to do 6 sessions each. At the end of each 5 minute session a siren (sound) will go off and the person racing will need to finish the lap they are on then pull over in the appointed space (lane) to have the transponder removed and it fitted in the next car by the team member who is not racing next, the next person will then proceed to race. Each team will also have to Marshall their own cars and the team member doing the marshalling will need to where a green vest.

If a driver breaks their car, the next driver cannot go up to race until the 5 minutes are up. If the broken car cannot be fixed the driver may use a different car, if one is available to them, if one is not available and the driver cannot get their car fixed, the team will not have a racer in that 5 minute slot.

The Race clock will be set to run for 88 minutes with no stops. After 5 minutes there will be a buzzer/siren, when hearing this sound the drivers who are currently on the track will need to drive down the pit lane to get their transponder removed and put into the next car. A 30 second gap will be set to give drivers a chance of still being able to race for their 5 minute slot.

The team with the most laps at the end of the meeting will be the winners.

Have Fun.

Any one turning up on the night who wishes to race may not be in a team but will be allowed to race with their relevant skill group for each 5 minute session.

Information

20th November 2013

We would like to thank everyone for their recent efforts in trying to increase the number of drivers we have on a club night at Stoke. However, with numbers on the rise this does highlight an issue we have with the lack of time we have the Hall hired out for against what is actually possible. If numbers do carry on increasing or some of our less frequent drivers all turn up on the same night, we may have to limit the numbers on that night. If the weekly total of drivers is regularly high enough to cover costs, we have the option to extend the night/add another heat in the new year. This will have to financially viable for the Club and requires consistent higher numbers of Drivers weekly to make it an option. It also requires additional assistance from Members outside of the committee to ensure that people turn up on time and help to set up and pack away each week.

Please bare this in mind, especially considering the distance some drivers travel. Where possible we will try to accommodate everyone but we may have to start pre-booking or even online booking.

Thanks for all your support, Steve.

The Bad first, from Tuesday 27/03/12 we will be putting up the racing fees by 50p to £6.50. We have tried not to do this, but with hall hire going up in April we are left with no choice.

Now the good, from Tuesday 27/03/12 the doors will be opening from 7:00pm and racing will be starting at no later than 8:00pm. This will allow us to cater with the increase of driver numbers and give every one more time between races because we will be running 4 heats over 4 rounds.

Any questions, feel free to post on our Facebook page.
